los-vaqueros-at-herperia-hall-080914New this year: Los Vaqueros Hunting Club Traveling Band will be the Party’s opening band at the fourth annual Party in the Village! on August 22, 2015.

The smallest band with the biggest name–The Los Vaqueros Hunting Club Traveling Band–was born of campfire smoke, camaraderie and a love of tales and songs where creativity is not hindered by fact or truth. Featuring three close friends, Randy Handley, Terry Handley and Rich Casey, the trio first began making music together in their youth while gathered around the campfires of the Los Vaqueros Hunting Club.

Their brand of both Country and Western music features old standards like “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Ghost Riders In The Sky,} to more contemporary hits like “Margaritaville” and “Wagon Wheel.” They are likely to sprinkle in a Western tune such as “Tumbling Tumble Weeds” and then throw down an Irish jig like “The Washer Woman.”

Randy Handley steers the ship (or dingy, as it were) with his beautiful voice and solid rhythm guitar. His brother, Terry Handley, with his awesome vocal range, bears the brunt of the tight harmony work. Rich Casey fills in the upper register with an occasional mandolin lick and is known to wander off once in a while on a lead vocal.

If you are interested in an evening of fun “campfire” music, come out to see this group. Don’t forget your body parts: funny bone for laughing, feet for stomping & dancing, hands for clapping, and voices for singing along. The band has been performing over the past 20 years or so; they just love to play music, entertain folks and to help raise money for good causes.
